This is part of a series of exercises in the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain".
The goal of this exercise is to erase any preconceptions that you may have and just draw what you see.
When you're drawing upside down you can more easily see the lines, shapes and focus on one element at a time.
It's something that I use when working on my 3d images. I go in photoshop and I flip them horizontally and vertically, that way it's like I'm seeing them for the first time and I can catch a bunch of little things that I completely missed before.
