Negative Spaces

This is part of a series of exercises in the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain".
Sometimes you look at something and you have absolutely no clue where to start. For me trees are that something. When I first tried to draw some good looking trees I immediately felt overwhelmed by all the branches and leaves. But now after doing this chapter I think that can tackle the task of drawing a tree correctly.
In this exercise the author showed me that I don't necessarily need to draw "everything", I can get away and it's easier to just draw the empty shapes that are formed by the object's silhouette.
